At the Modena Motorsport Track Days 2005, organised by Helmut Schnug, the attention was
turned to the classic roadcars of Ferrari. On Friday, the most beautiful cars
had been awarded at the concours d'élegance situated on the start/finish line of the
Nürburgring. The awards were presented by the particular sponsors as well as Jacky Ickx and
Uwe Meissner, the head of Modena Motorsport. It has been a wonderful view with all those
awesome awarded cars on the track. Best of show became the Ferrari 250 LM s/n 5907,
owned by Christian Gläsel. Especially to note is the race spirit award, that went to Gerhard
Schwing. He uses his Ferrari 250 GT SWB s/n 1887GT not only on the racetrack, but also in
everyday life. It has already been the 11th arranged event for the customers of Modena
Motorsport. The call of Uwe Meissner was responded again by lots of Ferrari Owners, but also
some rare Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Porsche were to be seen.
The relaxed ambiance and the possibility to be nearby rare cars that couldn't be
seen somewhere else is very specific for the Modena Motorsport Track Days.
Such as the 4 cars Edgar Schermerhorn brought to the Nürburgring: Ferrari 166 Inter Touring
and Inter Farina Coupe, 195 Inter Ghia and 212 Inter Vignale Coupe...
In spite of the partial dark sky, the weather was ok and brought sunshine at the right time for
the wonderful adventure rally across the Ardennen on sunday. The 14 participating
Ferraris already startet early from the Nürburgring at 8:00 am via Kronenburg to Dasburg
including a fotoshooting at the castle ruin forward to Kyllburg and back to the Nürburgring.
