These Ferrari Days in Spa there were some interesting news with regard to the
participants of the Historic Challenge.
In the Historic class B Tidi Schneller from Germany drove his Ferrari 250 GT Ellena for the first
time in Spa. The car with the chassis number 0679GT from the year 1957
was the first vehicle, which become the successor of the Ferrari 250 GT Boano.
The recognizable difference between the two vehicles exists in the
higher roof of the Ellena in opposite to the Boano.
The field of the class B was dominated by 4 loud 512 BB-LM.
There also have been two ravishingly beautiful 250 LM, a yellow one driven by Carlos Monteverde
and a red one driven by Fred Della Noce. The wonderful yellow 275 GTB driven by Jan Biekens
has also to be mentioned. He also owns the 500 Mondial wich is participant of grid B.
It has been a pity that the enormous 712 Can Am of Paul Knapfield has been on the track for
very few test laps.
Due to bad weather conditions the F1-cars could start
only 2 times.
The private Ferrari drivers had the possibility from Friday to Sunday to gain
over 10 hours experience on the racing course.
A large field of participants with many different models took the chance to present their cars.
Several new Ferrari 430 Spider have been there in different colors.
The organization of the Events ran smoothly and made the Spa Ferrari Days once more a special
