Olivier Gendebien and Phil Hill raced the 330 TRI in the prototype category of the 1962 24h of Le Mans and declassed their rivals.
Despite of a flagging clutch and a stuttering engine, they brought the Ferrari with a big lead over the finish-line.
It was Gendebien`s 4th success in Le Mans and Ferrari won it`s 8th brand world championship.
The last kind of the front-engined generation was powered by a V12, which was used in the production car Ferrari 400 Superamerica in 1960.
Equipped with race technology, this engine activated 390hp out of 4l displacement.
First supplied by 3 big double carburettors, Ferrari installed 6 Weber double carburettors for the 24h of Le Mans.
The only 685kg curb weight made the 330 TRI to a true bullet.
