In 1953 the Ferrari 340 MM was launched as a successor of the 340 America. The 12 cylinder engine was designed by Lampredi and generates around 300hp out of 4.1l displacement.

Vignale made 5 powerful seemingly spyder bodies for the 340 MM.

The Spyder has been victoriously at the Giro di Sicilia as well as at the Mille Miglia in 1953.
Giannino Marzotto even broke the average speed record at the Mille Miglia. He turned it up to 142kp/h.
