The already 1905 founded company "Stabilimenti Industriali Giovanni Farina" created beside the "Carozzeria Touring" some of the 166 Inter bodys.
Some of the later well-known body designers learned their trade in this company, like Giovanni Michelotti, Mario Boano as well as the younger brother of Giovanni Farina, Battista "Pinin" Farina.

At this time, Ferrari delivered only the bare chassis and engine. The customers or dealers could choose how the body should look like. That is one reason why most of those early cars look slightly different.

The 2 liter engine of the 166 Inter is supplied by a single Weber double carburator, placed on a pipe socked, which is warmed up by a water circulation. On its top sits a double air filter, formed like a "t".

Only 5 cars with slightly different details were made.
