Most of the Ferrari 166 Inter were bodied by the "Carozzeria Touring Superleggera".
The 1926 founded company had gained experience with Alfa Romeo and BMW, before the did bodywork for Ferrari.
"Superleggera" means "super light" and describes the patented framework by Touring.

The 2 liter engine of the 166 Inter is supplied by a single Weber double carburator, placed on a pipe socked, which is warmed up by a water circulation. On its top sits a double air filter, formed like a t.

From the 18 built cars, you can distinguish between 3 versions. There were 5 cars built with the first body type.

Distinctive is the rolling fender line and the footboard, lifted up to the front fender.
The second body type with 6 cars is clearly identifiable through the straight border, drawn from the front fender trough to the rear end of the car. This type seems to be less decorated.
The last body type, 7 cars were built, is a "fast-back" type, with a more round, short rear end.
