The 1948 presented Ferrari 166 "Barchetta", which means "little boat", dominated the motor sports in that time over several years.

For example, Luigi Chinetti won Le Mans back in 1949 on his 166 MM as well as the 24h race in Spa Francorchamps.

MM stands for Mille Miglia, the famous Italian race.

The Carozzeria Touring has bodied the 2 liter Ferrari with their patented "Superleggera"-concept.
Thin autobody sheet steel formed around a light metal framework. Trough this type of construction the 166 MM only weights 650kg.

The successful and marvellous designed body has been copied by lots of designers of cars like the legendary AC Cobra.
